Chow Sing Chi & Ho Min Shen

Hong Kong movie star, Chow Sing Chi (aka Stephen Chow) is one of my favorite movie stars that I like to watch. He is a comedian and his films of ridiculous funny characters and dialogs can make everyone feel happy while watching him. He has tried his best from his humble beginning of acting until he achieved his biggest achievement of best director award.

Recently I found a lookalike Chow Sing Chi in a small town of Simpang Pulai, just outside the big city of Ipoh in Malaysia.

1. Although he is very young, about 16 years old, much very younger than the real Chow Sing Chi, but I thought that both of them almost have similar face. Well, maybe not very similar, but at least ALMOST. However, he claimed that he is much taller than the real Chow Sing Chi.

2. I have interviewed this lookalike Chow Sing Chi and his name is Ho Min Shen and he is still studying in a local secondary school. His ambitious is to be a superstar like Chow Sing Chi and he loves Kung Fu as well like Bruce Lee, similar to the interest of the real Chow.

3. Here are the comparison of the photos of both the lookalike and the real Chow Sing Chi.

 4. If anyone would like to hire a stuntman for Chow Sing Chi, this is the one maybe you can consider. He is young, energetic and willing to learn.

5. If anyone would like to hire a lookalike for Chow Sing Chi to appear in their events or shows, let me know. E-mail me at victor@victorwan.com.

As of today’s latest news (15 Aug 09), more than 50 deaths have been reported in Malaysia due to the infection and spreading of Influenza A (H1N1) disease. However, by looking at the situation, it seems that the Malaysian attitude towards this disease is like as thought that it is just like nobody’s business.

1. In Mumbai, India, they have closed all the schools and cinemas after the confirmation of 15 deaths. The figure there is just 15 and they are serious about tackling and controlling the situation. But in Malaysia, it seems that the government still thinks that the situation here is in control and no need to be panic at this moment.

2. In Malaysia, every family has children and babies as well as senior citizen. These are the people afraid of getting the disease. With the government only announcing the numbers of people infected and the number of deaths, they should do more than that. They should announce where the infected areas are so that we can take precaution such as not going to the infected area.  Every day we take public transport to work and go home. We are facing so many people, touch the same thing around us and go to the same area we hang out to and the maximum precaution we can do is to wash our hands every time we reach office and also reach home. Looking at these, it seems that everywhere is infected area. So, where can we go now? Well, better stay at home. This is because every time we reached home, we do not know whether we have been infected or not. HOPEFULLY NOT!!!

3. Wearing a mask is one way for precaution but when you wear a mask and walk around outside, everyone will look at you like a crazy “kiasu” weirdo and then make you feel very uncomfortable of wearing it. But somehow, that is just a way to protect the family from infection.

4. My son was sick last week with fever and cough that similar to the H1N1 symptoms. Fortunately, he managed to overcome it and got well afterwards. Then, we heard from his school that many students were sick and absent from classes. The most shocking news was that there was a reported Standard 4 student confirmed with H1N1. Whether it was true or not, the government and the schools must take action to treat this H1N1 seriously. Announce where are the active places NOT to go and BAN this area. But I guess…………everywhere is not safe………….not only because of H1N1………..but of high crime rate as well.

Sport News : Manchester United to Malaysia

The greatest football team in the world, Manchester United FC, just completed their tour to Malaysia and played two matches here. I did not attend the first match against the Malaysia team on Saturday 18 July 2009 due to my commitment to attend an event. However, when they announced they were to play another match due to their cancellation to Jakarta because of the hotel bombing incident, I was ready to go to the second match on Monday 20 July 2009 at the same venue, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

1. This was my third time seeing them playing LIVE in front of my own eyes. The atmosphere inside the stadium was great. Everyone was enjoying their time.  However, while the first match was almost full house, the second match was filled up about half of the stadium only. Maybe, it could be due to Monday, a lot of fans still need to work. Here I was inside the stadium.

 2. My favorite player, Michael Owen was in the starting lineup. Here is the starting lineup for Manchester United team.

3. The match was played very fast between the two teams and I was able to capture Macheda’s goal on my own video camera. However, 2 minutes later, I was still excited about the goal and did not able to capture their second goal which was scored by my favorite player, Michael Owen.

4. In the second half, Rooney, Berbatov, Ferdinand, Nani, Anderson and Scholes were among the players came in for substitution. The match was still very energetic and both sides almost score their goals. However, at the end, the final score was still 2-0 won by Manchester United.

5. I enjoyed my time watching them played in Malaysia and looking forward to the new football season coming soon. May Manchester United continue to dominate the English Premier League and capture back the UEFA Champions League.

Good Luck to you, Manchester United.

Tribute to Michael Jackson

I was very sad when I heard the news of the death of Michael Jackson. Even though he had no relationship to me but his songs were related to all of us.

1. He had all those songs that gave meanings to all of us. Especially the song “Heal the World”. The world is dying and he wanted us all together to try our best to heal the world.

2. My second son, Julian also got to know this song when he was one of the perfomers in his kindergarten concert last year 2008. He dressed as one of the trees and urged all of us to save the trees to save to world. And he liked the song until now that he still like to listen to it.

3. My eldest son, Joey, got to know him from the song “Beat It”. Well, not that he wants to beat everyone but to beat away those bad things, bad experience surrounding us.

4. My youngest son, Joe Dean, well, he is still young and don’t know what is happening to him. But at least he heard and know a bit about Michael Jackson.

5. My wife had watched him before in front of her own eyes when he came to Malaysia for the only concert in his life. At least, she was able to see him in person.

6. As for me, I still have his “HiStory” CDs with me inside my car and I will still listen to his songs again and again and again………..

The King of Pop is already gone but for us, life goes on……….

Economy Crisis? I am wondering….

When I looked around the environment surrounding me, the places I have been, shopping centres, residential areas or even on the road, there is one thing I noticed that everyone could be fooling around each other, and that is the economy crisis.

1. Is there really an economy crisis? I am just wondering.

2. You see, when I looked around, I saw a lot of people still able to renovate their houses. Not just a minor renovation but a major renovation as well. Completely changing the structure and design of the houses. Are these people too rich and not border about the economy crisis that has been hitting everyone that talking about it?

3. When I was on the road, I saw many cars still moving around and the cars are not just small and ordinary cars but big, huge, expensive and new latest cars as well. From what I know, the new cars are not cheap and could be more than RM150,000 even though some still can afford for cars that are priced around RM100,000. So, for those driving those new expensive cars, are they really too rich that they can afford to buy a car that only bring you from one place to another and nothing much can be done?

4. When I was at the shopping centres, I still saw many people crowded everywhere inside doing shopping or maybe just window shopping. Maybe there are many people at the shopping centres due to no other places to go and still can afford to walk around and look around of merchandises and feel the cool air-con. Yes, just walk and look around like browsing and not buying at all which is window shopping. But with the big SALES season now in Malaysia, I guess many people will be spending again with lots of discount but for me, there is no discount at all. You still have to spend spend spend and seems that nobody is affected by the so-called “Economy Crisis”.

5. So, in the end, is there an economy crisis now? I am still wondering.

Thank you.
